Conversations across the education and skills sectors are increasingly focusing on how we ensure that young people are prepared for the world of work.
Recent discussions highlight a growing concern – that without action, more young people could find themselves without a clear pathway into education, employment or training. Current trends suggest this could affect as many as one in six young people in the future. Even today, over a million young people across the UK are already in this position. However, several employers are facing challenges finding people with the right skills to fill roles, which is creating a bigger skills gap – affecting the wider economy. Many are eager to work, but without access to the right opportunities, it can be difficult.
At AIM Qualifications and Assessment Group, this is something we care about and want to help change.
Creating the Right Pathways
There’s no single one route into a career – and for many young people, the traditional path doesn’t always fit. We understand that every Learner’s journey varies. As an organisation, our role is to create flexible learning pathways that suit individuals’ needs and skill set.
From Colleges and Training Providers, to Employers, we work collaboratively to help deliver Qualifications that meet the skills needed for the future workforce.
Our wide-ranging offer includes Apprenticeships and End-Point Assessment, Access to Higher Education (HE) Diplomas and Entry Level Qualifications, as well as a variety of Courses (Levels 1-7), in a broad range of sectors.
Combining practical experience with technical knowledge, our Qualifications are designed to help Learners build careers, whilst developing transferable skills such as communication, confidence and resilience – perfect for industry.
Additionally, our Access to HE Diplomas provide routes into University for those who may not have followed a traditional academic pathway, expanding opportunities for young people passionate about their studies.
Learners could be studying Academic Skills such as English and Maths, perhaps decide to take the more creative route through Design or Digital Courses, or pursue their passion by following the Animal Care pathway.
Through our wide range of Qualifications, we support Learners to develop the skills that Employers are actively looking for, helping to bridge the gap between education and employment, and ensuring young people are better prepared for today’s job market.
Working Collaboratively to Address a Shared Challenge
Supporting young people into education, training, and employment requires collaboration, which is why partnerships are increasingly more important.
By working together with Generation Next, we create stronger connections between education and employment, open up doors for exciting new opportunities to gain real-life, valuable experience, as well as supporting Employers in developing future talent.
