Production Assistant (screen and audio) Level 3 Assessment

Level:

3

Age Range:

16+

A Production Assistant provides support and help to editorial or technical colleagues to ensure the smooth delivery of content for productions. Production Assistants are involved in the end to end process of a production. They work to a brief and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders to plan productions.

Production Assistants need to be adaptable, and able to learn quickly on the job; building their understanding of screen and audio activities as they move across production teams.

  • Level 2 English and maths*
  • A portfolio of work-based evidence, used to support the professional discussion.

*this only applies to apprentices aged 16-18 at the start of their apprenticeship training. For apprentices aged 19+ at the start of their apprenticeship training, achieving L2 English and maths is not mandatory.

  • Scenario test with presentation and questioning: A two and a half hour scenario test based on a production brief, followed by a 30-minute session consisting of a presentation and questions from an assessor.
  • Professional discussion underpinned by a portfolio: A 60-minute discussion with an assessor, supported by a portfolio of evidence.

The assessment will typically be completed within a period of up to three months once the gateway requirements have been met.
