Content Creator Level 3 Assessment

Level:

3

Age Range:

16+

A content creator is responsible for developing and creating content that can be used across a variety of media including digital, social media, broadcast or in print. Working to the customer/client brief, they research, prepare and develop the media messaging to maximise audience engagement, capturing the strategy and objectives of the brand and needs of the customer they are representing.

The content they create can be used as a part of media, advertising or marketing campaign. They must capture what is exciting about a campaign and design the elements that can be used across media platforms and channels.

The standard covers core technical skills and knowledge, including planning and strategy, creation and production, audience engagement and project delivery. It also focuses on an apprentice’s other skills, including applying regulatory requirements, data analysis and project evaluation.

Apprenticeship assessment is flexible and readiness will be determined when the employer, training provider and apprentice are confident to proceed. However, before an apprentice can enter the assessment period the following pre-requisites must be met:

  • The apprentice has been on programme/in learning for at least six months.
  • The employer confirms that the apprentice is ready to undertake their apprenticeship assessment.
  • Submitted to AIM and had approved, a project proposal
  • Assessment method one (AM 1): Project – production of a report based on a Content Creator project, typically undertaken whilst on programme/in learning.
  • Assessment method two (AM 2): Portfolio – compiled throughout the apprenticeship journey to showcase apprentices work based competence.
  • Assessment method three (AM 3): Question and answer – a 60 to 90 minute questioning session with an AIM Assessor, based on the outcome of AM 1 and AM 2.

Following the completion of the apprenticeship assessment, apprentices will only receive their certificate if the following have been met:

  • Achieved at least a pass grade.
  • Confirmation from the employer that the apprentice has achieved the workplace behaviours requirements.
  • For apprentices aged 16 to 18 years old when they were registered on the apprenticeship – achieved English and Maths at a minimum of level 2.
  • For apprentices who were 19 or older when they were registered on the apprenticeship, evidence of attempting English and Maths at a minimum of level 2 rather than absolute achievement is required.

Apprentices will have five weeks from the agreed project report start date to complete and submit their report to AIM. The completed portfolio must be submitted to AIM, at least two weeks before the scheduled date of AM 3 (Question and Answer).
