Assistant recording technicians work as part of a small team within a studio environment of a large or small broadcast and/or production company that edits and produces music and sound content prior to release.
This role provides support to more experienced and senior audio or recording engineers to produce high-quality recordings, working with the technical aspect of recording and using a variety of technological tools. This could include, for example, working on the technical aspects of music that is recorded for sale under an artist’s name, or that which is to be used for TV, radio, film or computer games.
The length of this apprenticeship is typically 24 months.

There is a seven-week period, following gateway, for completion of the project and submission of the report. The presentation is then submitted within two weeks of completion and submission of the report. The assessment of the presentation, questioning and professional discussion components of the EPA will be scheduled at least two weeks after the presentation is submitted.
