AIM Qualifications Level 2 Certificate in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)

Neuro-Linguistic Programming, (NLP) is a method of recognising and using communication skills and tools that helps us to develop greater understanding of ourselves and can help people to overcome many mild issues such as anxiety, phobias and simple habits. It is often studied and offered along with hypnotherapy and has a foundation in hypnosis techniques and communication techniques. NLP was originally developed in the 1970’s by Richard Bandler and John Grinder through noting what experts did well and mirroring those methods. Bandler and Grinder went on to write several books on the subject and to run training courses to expand the techniques into the popular usage they have today. Today NLP is used widely in therapy, in business and in communication.

The qualification introduces the learner to a short history of the development of NLP and then to the main principles and methods that NLP uses.

This qualification will be of interest to:
▪ anyone who has a general interest in adding NLP to their existing skills in business or working
with the public

▪ hypnotherapists, psychotherapists, psychologists, nurses, doctors or counsellors as Continuing
Professional Development

▪ adult learners who may be returning to study or changing career to gain their first step into
becoming qualified as a therapist through supported home study

▪ learners who are interested in developing greater self-awareness and self- understanding
