The AIM Qualifications Level 2 Certificate in Counselling, Helping and Communication Theory serves as a broad introduction to key counselling approaches and communication skills.
Learners are introduced to the theories of Person-Centred Counselling, Psychodynamic Counselling and Cognitive
Behavioural Therapy, along with descriptions and examples of the hands-on communication skills that distinguish counselling as a unique way of supporting individuals.
This qualification may be of interest as Continued Professional Development (CPD) to professionals in health and social care, management and education who would like to enhance their communication skills. It is also of interest to learners who would like to understand some key models of the mind for greater self-awareness and self-development.
To achieve this qualification learners must complete all the essential components (see Qualification Specification).
AIM Qualifications Level 2 Award in Introduction to Counselling Skills
This qualification will enable learners to develop their knowledge of the counselling profession, looking at the role of professional frameworks/codes of conduct and the core personal qualities that enable competent counsellors.

AIM Qualifications Level 3 Certificate in Counselling
This qualification provides the knowledge and understanding of the main core theories and theorists that underpin counselling and addresses the nature of psychological problems and how they may be approached.
AIM Qualifications Level 5 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling
By studying this qualification, learners will embark on practice working within an ethical framework and will develop an understanding of the need for and value of supervision in counselling practice.
