This qualification has been designed to provide routes into employment or further study for those learners in foundation, supported or residential and other learning environments, where a mainstream curriculum would not meet learners needs or offer routes into sustained employment.
By providing learning and skills across a range of unit content, including personal development, employment skills and a specially selected range of appropriate skills that can lead to further study, employment or self-employment via a range of suitable vocational skills, these qualifications will equip learners to enter the world of work, study and adult life. This qualification also includes endorsed pathways, giving learners the opportunity to study a range of skills in an area of special interest or identified for further learning. These include Personal Development, Work Skills, Arts and Crafts Skills, Food and Drink Skills and Land and Environment Skills.

To achieve this qualification learners must complete all the essential components (see Qualification Specification).
AIM Qualifications Entry Level Award in Employability and Development Skills (Entry 3)
This qualification has been designed to allow learners who are ready to enter the workplace to find a relevant, appropriate vocational area, and give them opportunity to develop essential personal development and employability skills along with specific vocationally-related skills in a simulated or real work environment.
AIM Qualifications Entry Level Award in English (Entry 1)
The AIM Qualifications Entry Level Award in English (Entry 1) offers opportunities for a wide range of learners to build confidence and knowledge in the core skills of English. The qualifications consist of units at Entry 1. The units are designed to target the specific skills needs of learners, filling gaps in their knowledge of the fundamentals of English. This qualification can provide a stepping stone towards achievement of Functional Skills.
