This qualification prepares trainee teachers to teach in a wide range of contexts and requires observation and assessment of performance.
This qualification can meet the needs of a range of trainee teachers; for example, individuals not currently teaching or training, individuals currently teaching or training (including those who have just begun teaching or training), individuals currently working as assessors who wish to achieve a teaching qualification.
This qualification enables progression to the L5 Diploma in Education and Training; or to Assessor and Verifier qualifications.
Learners must achieve 36 credits in total. 21 credits must be achieved from Group (A) and a minimum of 15 credits must be achieved from Group (B). A maximum of 15 credits may be achieved at Level 3 (see Qualification Specification).
