This qualification has been designed for those who wish to learn the basic cuts and trims to be able to work in a grooming salon.
Learners should be aged 16 or above, be working at level 2 and be comfortable around dogs of all sizes, breeds and temperaments.
The AIM Qualifications Level 3 Certificate in Dog Grooming has been designed for those who wish to learn the basic cuts and trims to be able to work in a grooming salon. The qualification covers assessing, planning, and recording grooming work, health checking dogs prior to grooming and essential first aid.
The qualification is made up of a range of theoretical and practical units related to canine health and wellbeing and cutting and trimming dogs’ coats.
On successful completion of the Level 3 Certificate in Dog Grooming, learners may progress onto the Level 3 Diploma, any other Level 3 Canine care qualification or directly into employment in a dog grooming salon or similar environment.

This qualification is aimed at learners wishing to progress higher within their career or training in the dog grooming industry. It is suitable for learners wanting to enhance their skills and knowledge in styling or those wanting to independently groom and style at an advanced level. It is also suited to those who wish to groom their own dogs and enhance their skills, as this qualification includes a range of topics covering all aspects of dog grooming.
AIM Qualifications Level 4 Certificate in Professional Pet Sitting, Dog Walking, Dog Daycare and Boarding
This qualification has been developed in partnership with Cambridge Institute of Dog Behaviour and Training to provide a professional qualification for those already working or looking to work in the area of Dog Walking, Pet Sitting, Pet Boarding and Dog Daycare.
AIM Qualifications Level 3 Diploma in Assistance Dog Training
This qualification has been designed to provide learners with knowledge and understanding of assistance dog training. It provides the underpinning knowledge for learners to assess a dog’s support needs using formal reports and action plans.
AIM Qualifications Level 1 Award in Dog Training and Husbandry
This qualification has been designed to provide learners with the knowledge and understanding to pursue a career in canine care.
