This short knowledge-based qualification consists of three units relating to canine diet, nutrition and behaviour.
This qualification has been designed to give learners the understanding of canine nutrition, feeding regimes and the impact of diet on animal health and behaviour. This qualification is suitable for those need to develop an awareness of Prevent Duty and can then progress to a deeper understanding. It has been designed to give learners the knowledge and understanding relating to canine nutrition and diet. Learners will understand a range of appropriate diets and be able to assess their nutritional composition. They will be able to understand how diets and their content can affect canine health and behaviour and recognise the impact of how toxic foods and supplements have on the species.
Learners wishing to increase knowledge and understanding relating to canine nutrition and feeding. Ideal for learners who are already working in the animal care industry to enhance their understanding and for dog owner’s. Learners could progress onto another Level 3 or Level 4 qualification in this related subject area.
