The AIM Qualifications Level 3 Award in Working with Gangs and Youth Violence provides learners with the underpinning knowledge and skills to be able to work with young people involved in violent behaviour or activities and with young people in gang impacted environments.

This qualification has been designed to enable learners to:

  • Develop interpersonal skills
  • Work safely with young individuals
  • Gain knowledge of social and psychological aspects of youth violence
  • Understand national policies addressing youth violence
  • Understand the impact of mental health on young people in gangs
  • Understand and employ exit strategies from a gang
  • Understand effects of marginalisation

Learners may wish to use their knowledge and skills to work in Youth services, After school environments, social services, probation services, Police, etc.
