The qualification is for people who understand the importance of play and the outdoors for children’s health and wellbeing and capacity to learn. Furthermore, giving children opportunities to experience nature is a prerequisite for care for nature.
The aim of the qualification is to enable Early Years Practitioners to organise, safely set up and facilitate Forest Kindergarten sessions. These sessions will be regular and routine off-site visits to a local woodland or nearby greenspace for children in their setting.
This qualification is designed to enable learners to progress to Level 3 Certificate for Forest School Leaders.

AIM Qualifications Level 1 Award in Forest School Ethos and Principles
The AIM Qualifications Level 1 Award in Forest School Ethos and Principles provides learners with an introduction to the Forest School ethos and learning in the outdoors. It includes methods of identifying woodland species and how play can assist in Forest School activities.
AIM Qualifications Level 2 Award for Forest School Assistants
The AIM Qualifications Level 2 Award for Forest School Assistants provides learners with the skills required to support Forest School Leaders when supporting Forest School programmes.
AIM Qualifications Level 3 Certificate for Forest School Leaders
The AIM Qualifications Level 3 Certificate for Forest School Leaders provides learners with the knowledge and skills required to support individuals in Forest School programmes and outdoor learning.
Access to Higher Education Diploma (Early Years Education)
WITHDRAWN
The Access to HE Diploma is a full Level 3 qualification designed to prepare learners without traditional qualifications for entry into Higher Education (HE).
