AIM Qualifications Level 2 Award Digital Fabrication

They will be able to use software effectively to create unique digital designs, with a view to manufacture. They will also be able to fabricate a design using more than one machine or process. They will be able to apply an understanding of how 2D design can translate into a 3D object.

This qualification can be used as a stepping stone to employment or further study by enabling the development of specific vocational skills. This Level 2 qualification also provides learners with a seamless progression route from the Level 1 Award in Digital Fabrication.

To be awarded the AIM Qualifications Level 2 Award in Digital Fabrication, learners must achieve:

Quality Assurance Requirements

Tutors:

To offer this qualification, centres must ensure that tutors hold or are working towards:

• A Level 3 qualification in digital fabrication or equivalent qualification in engineering and manufacturing.
• A UK recognised teaching and/or assessing qualification.
• At least a year?s meaningful experience in working within the engineering/manufacturing industries.

Internal Quality Assurer (IQA):

Centres must also ensure that they have in place an Internal Quality Assurance person who:

• Holds or is working towards a Level 4 Award in Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practices or its equivalent.
• Has substantial experience of working in or assessing qualifications in digital fabrication.
• Is familiar with the assessment requirements of the qualification for which they are the Internal Quality Assurer.
