This qualification is based on the learner’s own research from the AIM Qualifications Level 5 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling. This will focus on either the learner’s own counselling practice or a topic relevant to the field of counselling.

Upon successful completion of these qualifications learners may progress into employment, or pursue further learning opportunities around social care.

To be awarded the AIM Qualifications Level 2 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care, learners must achieve:

  • 20 credits

Quality Assurance Requirements

Tutors:

To offer this qualification, centres must ensure that tutors hold or are working towards:

  • Level 3 Award in Education and Training; or
  • Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training; or
  • Level 3 or 4 PTLLS (or equivalent) and?
  • Has experience of working in, or teaching qualifications in Adult Social Care.

Internal Quality Assurer (IQA):

Centres must also ensure that they have in place an Internal Quality Assurance person who:

  • Holds or is working towards a Level 4 Award in Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practices or its equivalent.
  • Has experience of working in or assessing qualifications in Adult Social Care.
  • Is familiar with the assessment requirements of the qualification for which they are the Internal Quality Assurer.
