Learners will gain the skills to carry out building, installation and property maintenance tasks or carry on to study at a higher level.

Learners will be prepared to complete building, installation and property maintenance tasks. They will know how to select the correct tools, equipment and materials to complete tasks.

To be awarded the AIM Qualifications Level 3 Diploma in Building, Installation and Property Maintenance Skills, learners must achieve:

  • 42 credits from Optional Group A
  • no mandatory units for this qualification.

Quality Assurance Requirements

Tutors:

To offer this qualification, centres must ensure that tutors hold or are working towards:

  • A teaching qualification, qualifications and experience of building and maintenance work.

Internal Quality Assurer (IQA):

Centres must also ensure that they have in place an Internal Quality Assurance person who:

  • Holds or is working towards a Level 4 Award in Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practices or its equivalent.
  • Has substantial experience of working in or assessing qualifications in the building and maintenance area.
  • Is familiar with the assessment requirements of the qualification for which they are the Internal Quality Assurer.
