For an NVQ qualification, learners must be employed in an appropriate role in the workplace to be able to generate evidence of competence.
This National Vocational Qualification has been developed with CITB in line with the relevant National Occupational Standards (NOS).
It offers learners the opportunity to demonstrate knowledge, understanding and practical skills in to work across trades to carry out basic repair and refurbishment operations in a construction environment.
Learners may progress to further qualifications in the same or related areas such as a Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Trowel Occupations (Construction) or Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Occupational Work Supervision (Construction).

AIM Qualifications Level 2 Award in Skills for Working in Construction and Building Industries
This qualification covers different areas of construction and building, including painting and decorating, carpentry and joinery, brickwork, plumbing, and landscaping.
AIM Qualifications Level 3 Certificate in Building, Installation and Property Maintenance Skills
This qualification gives learners the ability to complete building, installation and property maintenance tasks. This qualification is ideal if you are looking to develop properties where you would require several skills. Learners will also be able to produce accurate quotations for customers based on the work required.
AIM Qualifications Level 3 Award in Building and Installation Skills (1st and 2nd Fix Joinery)
This qualification gives learners the ability to complete 1st and 2nd fix joinery tasks. These can include bespoke frames (door and/or window), shaped linings (door and/or hatch) and partitions (with openings and change of direction). Learners will also be able to produce accurate quotations for customers.
