AIM Qualifications Level 1 Certificate in Developing Skills for Employment

The learning and skills in this qualification can be used in a variety of work-based situations and to support the development of generic transferable skills required in any workplace.

Learners should be operating at Entry Level 3 or above. There are no other requirements.

Learners may progress onto the Level 1 Certificate in Developing Skills for Employment or may progress to a Level 2 qualification in a vocational area. Learners may progress directly into their first employed opportunity.

To be awarded the AIM Qualifications Level 1 Certificate in Developing Skills for Employment, learners must achieve:

• 13 credits in total
• A minimum of 6 credits must be taken from Group A
• A minimum of 2 credit must be taken from Group B
• The remaining 5 credits may be taken from any combination of units in Groups A, B and C
• Units with the same title in different groups may not be selected

Entry Requirements

We have created learner workbooks, tutor guides and additional resources for centres to use.

Tutors:

To offer this qualification, centres must ensure that tutors hold or are working towards:

• A relevant teaching qualification at Level 4 or above, such as the Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training.
• Demonstrable professional experience of delivering vocationally-related skills at Level 1 or above.

Internal Quality Assurer (IQA):

Centres must also ensure that they have in place an Internal Quality Assurance person who:

• Holds or is working towards a Level 4 Award in Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practices or its equivalent.
• Has substantial experience of working in or assessing qualifications in employability skills.
• Is familiar with the assessment requirements of the qualification for which they are the Internal Quality Assurer.
