This Diploma is designed to provide a foundational understanding of the knowledge and skills associated with Games Design including 2D and 3d Modelling, Art Fundamentals for the GAVFX industry, core principles, and production management.
The Diploma will also provide opportunity for development of practical and technical skills and academic skills such as report writing and problem solving.

The intention will be for learners to progress onto higher education courses related to Games Design and pursue careers in GAVFX Industry.

The Rules of Combination will require 30 graded credits to be achieved from units within the Games, Animation and Visual Effects subject group, with 15 other graded credits taken from the same subject group, Art and Design, Games and or Computing.

Examples of units include Core Principles of Game Design, Production Management for GAVFX Industries, Working in the GAVFX Industries, 2D Animation Production, Images and Sound for Games, and Maths and Logic Fundamentals for GAVFX Industries.  There must also be 15 ungraded credits achieved from Study Skills and or Introductory Academic Units.  All learners will study the mandatory 6 credit ungraded Academic Study Skills unit.
