The Level 2 Award in Therapeutic Skills for Trauma-Informed Practice within Health and Social Care is designed to support the growth of trauma-informed practice among staff and carers working with young people in the health and social care sector.
This is an introductory training component to this topic that will serve learners in their work and act as a springboard for further study providing access to high level training. This training will help to raise self-awareness and reflective skills that can be utilised by learners to build a more therapeutic environment for young people in care.
Use of therapeutic skills with a trauma-informed lens has been shown to benefit both the recipients and the staff within the health and social care sector.
This qualification has been designed as a step on the ladder for professional development for aspiring and practising care workers, teaching assistants and counsellors. Learners may progress onto the AIM Qualifications Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills.
