Finding AIM Qualifications

Please use our qualifications search tool below. Please note, in order to find a qualification you should select a Subject Area then a Suite.

An explanation of subject categories can be found at the bottom of this page.

Handbooks

Once you’ve found a qualification title you like, all the detail about that qualification is shown in our qualification handbooks. When you click on this, the handbook will either appear as a new webpage or download depending on the device you’re using. This PDF document can be saved to your computer for future reference but please bear in mind that we do update these from time to time.

Within the handbook you will find lots of information, including the guided learning hours, total qualification time, level, intended outcomes for learners and assessment requirements.

You’ll also find a list of the components within the qualification and the rules about how these are combined. Clicking on a component title will enable download of the specification outlining the standards (learning outcomes) and assessment requirements.

It’s worth noting that the document also becomes the dynamic record of learner achievement that forms part of the learner portfolio – all ready for you to use!

Important update to Qualification Handbooks - *Extended Extraordinary Regulatory Framework (EERF)

In line with regulatory requirements, qualifications designated with *EERF in their title now include adapted assessments in the 2020-21 academic year. These adaptations can be found in the guidance document linked to the appendices within the relevant handbook.

Qualifications that include adapted assessment have been reviewed by the team at AIM and, where appropriate, professional body guidance sought to confirm that these adaptations are acceptable. Any relevant adaptations must be approved and recorded by the Internal Verifier (or direct claims verifier) for your setting and learner demographics. The AIM External Verification team will expect to see evidence of this at EV appointments.

Qualification Approval

You do not have to tell us which units you are planning to deliver as part of the approval application. Rather you are simply seeking approval for the qualification overall.

Assuming you are an AIM centre, you can click the Offer this Qualification button, then the Proceed button

Page 1 – complete your centre details

Page 2 – complete the important details of who is assessing and internally verifying (follow the instructions on screen). At this stage you’ll need to upload CVs demonstrating that key staff have the necessary qualification and/or experience as described in the qualification handbook.

Once submitted (online) and approved, the nominated centre staff will receive access to the portal where the learners registrations are made.

If you are not already an AIM centre you will need to complete centre approval as described here.
