About this qualification

This qualification has been designed to provide a thorough grounding in wireless networking, the architecture and protocols involved in wireless networking and basic ethernet implementation.

Objectives of the qualification

Covering IP addressing, the Electro-Magnetic Spectrum and dBms, this qualification provides an ideal grounding for the AIM Qualifications Level 5 Certificate in Advanced Wireless Network Architecture.

Learners should hold a Level 3 qualifications in a related area.

Rules of combination

To be awarded the AIM Qualifications Level 5 Certificate in Telecommunications Test Equipment, learners must achieve:

Quality Assurance Requirements

Tutors:

To offer this qualification, centres must ensure that tutors hold or are working towards:

  • A relevant teaching qualification at level 4 or above.
  • Bachelor?s degree level qualification or equivalent relevant demonstrable experience in the sector.

Internal Quality Assurer (IQA):

Centres must also ensure that they have in place an Internal Quality Assurance person who:

  • Holds or is working towards a Level 4 Award in Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practices or its equivalent.
  • Has substantial experience of working in or assessing qualifications in wireless network technologies and wireless networks architecture.
  • Is familiar with the assessment requirements of the qualification for which they are the Internal Quality Assurer.
