The qualification enables learners to meet the requirements of the Retrofit industry standard PAS 2035 and includes practical property assessments to ensure competency.
This qualification is suitable for those currently holding a Level 3 Certificate in Domestic Energy Assessment, who may wish to work in the related field of Retrofit Assessment.
On successful completion of the AIM Qualifications Level 4 Award in Domestic Retrofit Assessment, learners may progress directly into employment as a Retrofit Assessor or progress onto higher learning in the Retrofit field, such as the AIM Qualifications Level 5 Diploma in Retrofit Coordination and Risk Management.

To achieve the AIM Qualifications Level 4 Award in Domestic Retrofit Assessment, learners must achieve:
- 7 credits from the Mandatory Units
- No Optional Units.

Prior to entry, learners must have completed the Level 3 Certificate in Domestic Energy Assessment.
Portfolio of Evidence including multiple choice questions, practical property assessments and professional discussions.
Tutors:
To offer this qualification, centres must ensure that tutors hold or are working towards:
- A relevant teaching qualification at Level 3 or above such as the Level 3 Award in Education and Training.
- A relevant industry related qualification such as the Level 5 Diploma in Retrofit Coordination and Risk Management.
Or
- Are a qualified and experienced Retrofit Assessor.
Internal Quality Assurer (IQA):
Centres must also ensure that they have in place an Internal Quality Assurance person who:
- Holds or is working towards a Level 4 Award in Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practices or its equivalent.
- Has substantial experience of working in or assessing qualifications in retrofit for domestic dwellings.
- Is familiar with the assessment requirements of the qualification for which they are the Internal Quality Assurer.
