This qualification has been designed to provide the underpinning theory and practical skills to allow learners to move into the role of Retrofit Advisor.?
This qualification is suitable for new entrants to the industry and those already working in roles such as Green Deal Advisor and looking to move into Retrofit.? This qualification is also suitable for those without Retrofit experience who may wish to work in the related field of Retrofit Assessor.
On successful completion of the Level 3 Certificate, learners may progress directly into employment as a Retrofit Advisor or may progress onto higher learning in the Retrofit field, such as the Level 4 Retrofit Assessor qualification.

To be awarded the Level 3 Certificate in Domestic Retrofit Advice learners must achieve:
- 14 credits from the Mandatory Units
- no optional units

Whilst there are no formal entry requirements for learners, providers should assure themselves that potential learners are sufficiently capable of meeting the qualification requirements.
Portfolio of evidence including Multiple Choice Questions, Practical Assessment via Case Study and Professional Discussions.
Tutors:
To offer this qualification, centres must ensure that tutors hold or are working towards:
- A relevant teaching qualification at level 3 or above such as the Level 3 Award in Education and Training.
- Relevant qualifications or substantial equivalent professional experience in retrofit related construction projects at Level 4 or above.
Internal Quality Assurer (IQA):
Centres must also ensure that they have in place an Internal Quality Assurance person who:
- Holds or is working towards a Level 4 Award in Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practices or its equivalent.
- Has substantial experience of working in or assessing qualifications in retrofit for domestic construction projects.
- Is familiar with the assessment requirements of the qualification for which they are the Internal Quality Assurer.
