This qualification gives learners the ability to complete bathroom installation tasks. These can include plumbing, plastering and tiling. Learners will also be able to produce accurate quotations for customers.
This qualification can be used flexibly to meet learner needs. Depending on the context of the learning and the needs of each individual learner, the qualification can:
- prepare individuals to progress to a qualification in the same subject area but at a higher level or requiring more specific knowledge, skills and understanding;
- prepare learners for employment;
- support a role in the workplace;
- encourage engagement in learning.
This qualification has been designed to enable learners to:
- know the importance of selecting the correct tools, equipment and materials when completing kitchen installations;
- generate two quotes for different carpentry tasks;
- evaluate completed work so as to identify areas which can be improved.
To be awarded the AIM Qualifications Level 3 Certificate in Kitchen Installation Skills, learners must achieve:
- a minimum of 21 credits;
- all 7 credits from the mandatory group;
- a minimum of 14 credits from the optional group must be taken in order to achieve this qualification.

Tutors:
To offer this qualification, centres must ensure that tutors hold or are working towards:
- A teaching qualification, qualifications and experience of building and maintenance work.
Internal Quality Assurer (IQA):
Centres must also ensure that they have in place an Internal Quality Assurance person who:
- Holds or is working towards a Level 4 Award in Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practices or its equivalent.
- Has substantial experience of working in or assessing qualifications in the building and maintenance area.
- Is familiar with the assessment requirements of the qualification for which they are the Internal Quality Assurer.
