About this qualification

This qualification is for those who work as an Independent Sexual Violence Adviser (ISVA) or support those who have experienced sexual violence and abuse. Learners will gain additional skills to support survivors of sexual violence, knowledge of the Criminal Justice System and risk assessment.

Objectives of the qualification

This qualification can be used flexibly to meet learner needs. Depending on the context of the learning and the needs of each individual learner, the qualification can:

  • Prepare individuals to progress to a qualification in the same subject area but at a higher level or requiring more specific knowledge, skills and understanding
  • Prepare learners for employment
  • Support a role in the workplace
  • Encourage engagement in learning

Rules of combination

To be awarded the AIM Qualifications Level 3 Award in Advocacy for Working with Survivors of Sexual Violence, learners must achieve:
