This qualification has been designed to provide learners with the knowledge and understanding required to understand how social media is used in a business environment.
By looking at the Principles of Social Media within a Business, learners will understand the benefits of social media as part of a marketing strategy and the use of social media in product placement and marketing.
Learners should be working at Level 2 as a minimum.
On successful completion of the AIM Qualifications Level 3 Award in Understanding Social Media for Business, learners may progress onto qualifications in related subjects at the same or a higher level, including the AIM Qualifications Level 3 Award and Certificate in the Principles of Marketing, or directly into relevant employment.

To be awarded the AIM Qualifications Level 3 Award in Social Media for Business, learners must achieve:

Tutors:
To offer this qualification, centres must ensure that tutors hold or are working towards:
- A relevant teaching/assessing qualification at Level 3 or above such as the Level 3 Certificate in Education and Training, or a relevant equivalent.
- A qualification in Marketing/Social Media at Level 4 or above such as the Level 4 Diploma in Digital Marketing and Social Media or similar, or demonstrable industry experience in the field of marketing and social media.
- Demonstrable professional experience of delivering and assessing teaching and learning in marketing, digital marketing and social media.
Internal Quality Assurer (IQA):
Centres must also ensure that they have in place an Internal Quality Assurance person who:
- Holds or is working towards a Level 4 Award in Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practices or its equivalent.
- Has substantial experience of working in or assessing qualifications marketing and social media.
- Is familiar with the assessment requirements of the qualification for which they are the Internal Quality Assurer.
