This qualification has been designed to provide learners with the knowledge and understanding required to work in the field of marketing, including digital marketing and market research.
By understanding the principles that underly marketing techniques and strategies, learners will be prepared for work experience or to enter a role in marketing.
Learners should be working at Level 2 as a minimum.
On successful completion of the AIM Qualifications Level 3 Certificate in the Principles of Marketing, learners may progress onto qualifications in related subjects at the same or a higher level, or they may progress directly into relevant employment.

To be awarded the AIM Qualifications Level 3 Certificate in the Principles of Marketing, learners must achieve:
- a minimum of 12 credits from any combination of units in Groups A to C

Tutors:
To offer this qualification, centres must ensure that tutors hold or are working towards:
- A relevant teaching/assessing qualification at Level 3 or above such as the Level 3 Certificate in Education and Training, or a relevant equivalent.
- A qualification in Marketing at Level 4 or above such as the Level 4 Certificate in Professional Marketing, or demonstrable industry experience in the field of marketing.
- Demonstrable professional experience of delivering and assessing teaching and learning in marketing and digital marketing.
Internal Quality Assurer (IQA):
Centres must also ensure that they have in place an Internal Quality Assurance person who:
- Holds or is working towards a Level 4 Award in Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practices or its equivalent.
- Has substantial experience of working in or assessing qualifications marketing and digital marketing.
- Is familiar with the assessment requirements of the qualification for which they are the Internal Quality Assurer.
