About this qualification

The Access to HE Diploma (Motorsport Engineering) is aimed at students wanting to gain a comprehensive understanding of the different aspects of the highly competitive global motorsport industry. The knowledge, skills and understanding learnt will help students to consider their options for further study which can lead to undergraduate degrees within the same or similar industries.

The range of units in the different subject groups will help students pursue or advance their career within this sector by focusing on areas such as engineering, computing and design technologies used within the sector. The ungraded units will help provide the underpinning skills necessary to progress in higher education by understanding principles such as academic writing and research and referencing.

The aim of this qualification is to prepare students for progression into higher education subjects including, but not limited to:

  • automotive engineering
  • autosport engineering
  • motor vehicle engineering.
