The Access to HE Diploma (Engineering) aims to develop student’s knowledge and skills in a range of different engineering professions. Students will develop their understanding of the key engineering principles. During this Diploma, students will explore different areas including mathematics, physics and chemistry. Throughout the Diploma, students will also develop transferable skills such as problem solving, working with others, interpreting information and numeracy.
The aim of this qualification is to prepare students for progression into higher education subjects including, but not limited to:
- engineering (civil, mechanical, architectural, aeronautical, electrical, biomedical, environmental)
- science
- mathematics.
Upon successful completion of this Diploma, students will be able to:
1. apply mathematical understanding in the context of science and engineering
2. solve problems in an engineering context
3. articulate complex ideas relating to engineering effectively
4. develop core research, referencing and study skills for success in HE
The qualification prepares students for study at higher education level.
