About this qualification

The Access to HE Diploma (Creative Industries) aims to develop student’s knowledge and skills across a broad range of creative subjects. Students will learn technical creative techniques, develop their own practical skills and how to work as a creative practitioner. Students will develop an understanding of how the creative industries operates, the opportunities it presents and an understanding of cultural and historical perspectives.

Students will develop their research and critical thinking skills through analysis of existing creative material and learn how to self-critique their work. They will also develop the ability to communicate effectively with others and work with clients and/or respond to audiences in real life situations.

This Diploma provides opportunities for students to explore underpinning themes through a range of creative subjects including art and design, business, computing, digital marketing, games, media, music, performing arts and photography.

The aim of this qualification is to prepare students for progression into higher education subjects including, but not limited to:
