The Access to HE Diploma (Business and Law) aims to develop student’s knowledge and skills in a range of different business-related professions. Students will learn how businesses work and what influences them. The students will explore different styles of management and leadership, learn how to produce a business plan and develop strategic thinking skills in a business context.
This qualification also allows students to undertake units in business, sociology, law, computing, work placement, mathematics, travel and tourism subject groups including equality and diversity, introduction to contract law and statistics units. Throughout the Diploma, students will also develop transferable skills such as working with others in teams, strategic thinking, effective communication of complex ideas, organising and planning.
The aim of this qualification is to prepare students for progression into higher education subjects including, but not limited to:
- business
- business and management
- law
- commercial law
- international business
- international law
- business and law.
Upon successful completion of this Diploma, students will be able to:
1. understand how business operations work
2. recognise the values and principles of the law in business
3. apply strategic thinking skills in relation to business and the law
4. explain the key concepts of consumer and employment law
5. develop core research, referencing and study skills for success in HE
The qualification prepares students for study at higher education level.
