The Access to HE Diploma (Animal Science) is aimed at students wanting to gain the skills, knowledge and confidence they need to access undergraduate degrees within the animal science industries.
This Diploma provides students with the opportunity to look at different areas of animal science, including animal management, biology, geography and environmental science. The ungraded units will help provide the underpinning skills necessary to progress in higher education by understanding principles such as academic writing and research and referencing.
The aim of this qualification is to prepare students for progression into higher education subjects including, but not limited to:
- animal biology
- veterinary nursing
- zoology
- other science related degrees.
Upon successful completion of this Diploma, students will be able to:
1. understand functions of the animal body, its diseases and their treatment
2. develop an understanding of animal behaviour and management
3. demonstrate the ability to use maths for animal science
4. develop core research, referencing and study skills for success in HE
The qualification prepares students for study at higher education level.
