About this qualification

This qualification is being withdrawn. The qualification will close for registrations on 30/09/2023. Learners will still have until 30/09/2026 to certificate.

The qualification is designed to give learners an understanding of the composition and structure of the Bible today.

Objectives of the qualification

Learners will analyse the extent of trustworthiness using exegetical tools to study the Scripture, understanding the difference between the devotional reading of Scripture and the study of structure. Learners will require a basic level on literacy and numeracy and access to a PC.

Learners who achieve this qualification may go on to take further studies in theology.

Quality Assurance Requirements

Tutors:

To offer this qualification, centres must ensure that tutors hold or are working towards:

  • Tutors will have a teaching qualification.
  • Have knowledge and experience of Theology and Biblical Studies.

Internal Quality Assurer (IQA):

Centres must also ensure that they have in place an Internal Quality Assurance person who:

  • Holds or is working towards a Level 4 Award in Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practices or its equivalent.
  • Has substantial experience of working in or assessing qualifications in Theology and Biblical Studies.
  • Is familiar with the assessment requirements of the qualification for which they are the Internal Quality Assurer.
