About this qualification

This qualification is being withdrawn. The qualification will close for registrations on 30/09/2023. Learners will still have until 30/09/2026 to certificate.

Learners who achieve this qualification may progress to take further studies in theology.

Objectives of the qualification

The qualification is designed to analyse Biblical themes and narratives of the Kingdom of God within the Old and New Testaments. Learners will require a basic level on literacy and numeracy and access to a PC.

Why choose this qualification

This qualification prepares learners to progress to a qualification in the same subject area but at a higher level or requiring more specific knowledge, skills and understanding. Learners who complete the Level 3 Award will be able to progress into higher levels of study in the same or similar areas of study.

Quality Assurance Requirements

Tutors:

To offer this qualification, centres must ensure that tutors hold or are working towards:

  • Tutors will have a teaching qualification.
  • Have knowledge and experience of Theology and Biblical Studies.

Internal Quality Assurer (IQA):

Centres must also ensure that they have in place an Internal Quality Assurance person who:

  • Holds or is working towards a Level 4 Award in Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practices or its equivalent.
  • Has substantial experience of working in or assessing qualifications in Theology and Biblical Studies.
  • Is familiar with the assessment requirements of the qualification for which they are the Internal Quality Assurer.
