Regulatory Compliance updates

AIM centre updates from the Compliance Team

As part of our continual review, many of our policies have recently been updated, so please ensure that you and your teams familiarise yourselves with the revised version which can be found here. This will ensure that your centre remains compliant and delivers a high quality qualification to your learners.

Transition to Quartz

We are currently busy preparing for the transition of some of our key processes to Quartz. To keep you up to date we will be providing centres with a dedicated compliance bulletin with information on training events, process changes, key contacts and policy updates along with other key regulatory updates. The first edition will be available mid-September.

To support the transition you can expect:

  • quick start guides and rationales
  • bespoke training sessions covering different areas of delivery and assessment eg. AIM policies; administration of examinations; CASS and what it means for Quality Assurance etc

The Compliance team can be contacted via complianceandqa@aimgroup.org.uk

Qualification approval process

Effective immediately, we will no longer be using MIA to process Qualification approval applications. We will be launching this process shortly on Quartz however during this transition phase, if you are an existing centre interested in seeking approval for a new qualification or suite of qualifications, please reach out to quality@aimgroup.org.uk. Our team will arrange a Teams meeting to discuss your application and provide support.

AIM Access to HE

It has been an exciting time for Access to HE as the two AVA licences have become one! We are currently planning the year ahead and looking at training opportunities, networking events and the review of all Diplomas in line with QAA’s Diploma Specification and Grade Scheme changes.

The first Access to HE Forum will take place Thursday 21 September, 13.30-15.30 via Teams and is an opportunity for those responsible for the coordination and management of Access to HE to meet, share good practice and receive updates from the AVA’s Access to HE team. The first forum will focus on the registration process and will provide a clear overview of AVA and QAA requirements and how we will support centres to ensure registrations are timely and accurate. There will also be discussion on the use of GradeTraka and the implementation of the new moderation model for 2023-24. The team welcome your suggestions for themes for the ‘sharing of good practice’ agenda item. Please send your ideas to accesstohe@aimgroup.org.uk – our dedicated email address for all things Access to HE!

Weekly drop-in support sessions continue to take place on a Tuesday, 16.00-16.45, via Teams.  You can call in at any time during the session, it does not need to be at the start.  A member of the team will be there for the duration ready to answer any questions and provide support. Click here to join the meeting.
