Additional government funding will support AIM programmes

The Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) has identified a number of skill areas which are vital to the success of a productive economy and is offering funds to providers to encourage and support the study of these specific skills. 

Relevant courses have been tagged as High Value Courses Premium (HVCP) and offer additional funding to encourage and support delivery of these level 3 courses. 

Students aged 16 to 19 on level 3 ESFA funded study programmes (which include at least 2 A levels or another qualification of 360 guided learning hours or more) which are included on the ESFA list of qualifying qualifications will attract an additional £400 for each year they are on their programme. 

The policy intention is that providers utilise this funding from the 2020 to 2021 academic year to increase enrolments and to build their capacity to deliver these programmes to more students to a high standard.
