New SEND qualification launching this September

We’re delighted to announce the launch of a new qualification designed to help meet the growing demand for skilled professionals who can support learners with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) across the education sector.
New qualification:
About this qualification
Approved by IFATE and Ofqual, this new funded diploma will be available for delivery from September 2025, and we are now inviting expressions of interest from colleges and independent training providers who wish to offer this qualification.
Developed in collaboration with employers, the diploma provides a non-apprenticeship route for adults into a teaching assistant role, with a strong emphasis on SEND. It builds on the existing TA apprenticeship standard and offers an in-depth exploration of special educational needs, child development, relevant legislation, and inclusive practices.
