AIM Strengthens International Educational Partnerships with New Shanghai Collaboration
11 November 2024
AIM Qualifications and Assessment Group is building on its established global partnerships by forming new connections in Shanghai, China.
This expansion reflects AIM's commitment to extending its charitable objectives of widening participation in education and training internationally.
Last week marked a milestone in this journey as AIM welcomed senior representatives from a major Shanghai college to the United Kingdom.
The delegation were invited to attend AIM’s Access to HE Awards celebration evening in Birmingham where they witnessed firsthand the achievements of students and colleges from across the region, providing a powerful demonstration of how the Access to HE Diploma is opening doors to new opportunities.
The UK visit culminated in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding which followed a detailed meeting at AIM’s headquarters in Derby.
Collaboration will focus on strengthening vocational curriculum in Shanghai and the UK. This agreement follows reciprocal visits between the institutions, during which both parties have engaged in meaningful discussions about educational innovation and shared best practices. "This partnership represents more than just an expansion of our reach," explained Kevern Kerswell, AIM Group CEO. "It's about creating a genuine exchange of ideas and approaches that benefit learners in both countries. By working together, we're learning from each other's expertise in assessment methodologies and exploring innovative approaches to digital education."
The collaboration promises several key benefits for both institutions:
- Shared expertise in assessment practices and quality assurance
- Joint exploration of digital learning technologies
- Enhanced opportunities for learners in both countries
- Professional development through cross-cultural exchange
- Collaborative research into vocational education excellence
This partnership in Shanghai is part of AIM's broader international strategy, which builds on existing successful collaborations across the globe.
As an educational charity, AIM is committed to extending its mission of educational accessibility beyond UK borders, working respectfully with international partners to support local educational needs and priorities.
