Discover ‘the world beyond the classroom’

Our popular Forest School Taster event returns this June for AIM centres to discover the world beyond the classroom and experience a taste of outdoor learning.

The day will include a range of demonstrations showcasing the activities included within our suite of Forest School qualifications

Hosted and delivered by AIM centre and delivery partner, Staffordshire Wildlife Trust, this event will:

  • introduce you to the benefits of becoming a Forest School Leader for your education establishment
  • provide an opportunity to learn about the innovative ways it can be used to enhance your business
  • engage and benefit learners by taking part in activities that demonstrate the breadth of the qualifications and their benefits.

AIM Forest School Qualifications

Our suite of Forest School qualifications provide the knowledge, skills and understanding needed for learners to be involved in the delivery of professionally recognised Forest School programmes including:

  • Level 1 Award in Forest School Ethos and Principles
  • Level 2 Award for Forest School Assistants
  • Level 3 Award in Forest Kindergarten: Local Nature Play
  • Level 3 Certificate for Forest School Leaders

These qualifications provide a platform of progression to higher levels of study in the same subject area. The Level 3 Certificate in Forest School Leaders will also prepare learners for employment as a Forest School Leader.

Connecting with the natural world

Investing in Forest School education is a powerful way in which to meet the strategic aims of the Department for Education’s Sustainability and Climate Change Strategy, by involving groups in protecting and promoting biodiversity through woodland management plans, planting trees and creating Forest School sites on school grounds. Engaging young people and their teachers in playful nature connection also builds emotional connections with the natural world.

So why not offer a new, therapeutic kind of education for your teachers and learners, and enjoy a fun-filled day at our Forest School Taster event on Friday 7th June.
