A word from our CEO

Kevern Kerswell, Group CEO
AIM Qualifications and Assessment Group has always been an outward looking, entrepreneurial and ambitious Awarding Organisation. The AIM Group has built a longstanding relationship with its likeminded and equally ambitious neighbour in the West Midlands (Open College Network West Midlands) and through close collaboration I am delighted that in September both charities joined forces. The AIM Group has reinvented itself to reach even more learners through our high-quality centres located across the country and abroad. |
Through merger the team at AIM has become even stronger. We have staff geographically located right across the country and we are proud that we operate from the heart of the nation with two offices located on the east and west of the midlands. The team are bound together in shared values, principles and a conviction that we have a real social purpose. We are passionate about the power of education and how it can change lives, and we see our qualifications and services as tools that effectively tackle social justice and social inclusion.
We understand that as we head into a new academic year the country is facing serious challenges. The cost of living crisis, the war in Ukraine, global financial uncertainty and political upheaval are all conspiring to create anxiety and genuine worry across the communities we serve. We understand that now more than ever, the AIM Group must prioritise the highest levels of support for our extensive network of education and training providers so that they can deliver the teaching and learning essential, so that the country can prosper through a resilient economy.
We understand the essential role that education and assessment plays within a well-oiled economy. We are passionate about the role we play in recognising skills development through our portfolio of over 600 regulated qualifications, our expanding end-point assessment offer and the two Access Validating Agencies we have within the group.
We exist to make a positive impact within the lives of our learners and to create resilient communities based on a skilled labour market. We also value learning for the sake of learning and we celebrate all of the wider benefits which learning and achievement bring about.
Our focus for the future is clear. We are building on the incredible work of both legacy awarding organisations and we will do so working hand in hand with our stakeholders. We have established a new customer experience directorate which underpins the delivery of every aspect of our offer. We will work relentlessly to ensure that our providers have access to effective systems, clear guidance and support, competitive pricing and a portfolio that delivers what they need. Above all, we will work collaboratively with our recognised centres so that our shared focus is placed squarely on the learner – always.
