As well as developing the course units, they offer their ongoing support to ensuring these qualifications continue to reflect the nature and pace of industry growth.

NextGen, working with these employers also offer a separate bespoke industry engagement services to colleges. The service is tailored in partnership with each college and includes: Masterclasses for students by industry professionals; Industry set tasks for students with feedback; Annual graduation showcase attended by industry; Bespoke Industry CPD courses for tutors.

Approved for Tech Level Status!

These AIM Awards Games, Animation and VFX qualifications have been approved for Tech Level Status. With their inception drawn from the Government UKCES Ownership of Skills initiative, these Technical qualifications have been designed in partnership with employers to cover all the knowledge and skills identified by employers as essential to teams working in any one of the games, animation and VFX industries. Tech Levels are rigorous advanced (level 3) technical qualifications, on a par with A levels and recognised by employers. They are for post-16 students wishing to specialise in a specific industry, occupation or technical role. They equip a student with specialist knowledge and skills, enabling entry to an apprenticeship or other employment, or progression to a related higher education course.

As Technical Level Qualifications, the Diploma and Extended Diploma carry automatic UCAS Points and College Performance points. The Qualifications have also been designed to support progression to Level 4 Apprenticeships.

The AIM Awards approach to working with our providers is very much one of partnership. All centres delivering these qualifications are invited to join our free AIM Creative Community which includes UKIE Student Membership for all students during the length of their Diploma and/or Extended Diploma course and ongoing support for qualification management and delivery, regular AIM Awards CPD workshops and a flexible yet comprehensive external verification service.

Named as Qualification of the Year at the 2016 Federation of Awarding Bodies (FAB) Awards, our Games, Animation and VFX qualifications are recognised for their innovation in meeting the STEAM Agenda (science, technology, engineering, art and maths) - enabling young people to develop the mix of skills that will lead to exciting careers in the digital creative industries and providing employers with a dynamic talent pool of skilled individuals.
