Flexible working

We love our flexible ways of working at AIM which means some of us work

  • full time from home
  • full time in the office (in Derby or Wolverhampton)
  • hybrid working (home and office)
  • hours suited to their home life.

This makes for a great home-life balance and very happy staff.


The team

We’re a convivial bunch from a range of backgrounds: FE and HE teachers and specialists, customer service, IT, the creative sector, and sector skills bodies etc whilst others have joined us straight from college. Find out more about us: Meet the team.

Not forgetting our two office dogs Mani, our happiness officer, along with other visiting pooches – all just waiting to meet you.


Training and development

As a new member of the team you will receive a ‘welcome induction’ to meet your colleagues and to learn about your new role. You’ll have regular meetings with you line manager to discuss training needs, and any support required for personal/professional development. Once a year we have an AIM staff conference for updates, new initiate launches and of course to socialise!

We have a ‘Kudos and recognition’ programme to celebrate and reward great customer care, living the values, and long-term service.

We respect each other’s work-life balance and have an office email curfew between 7pm and 7am and on the weekends.

To support well-being all staff have access to an Employee Assistance programme with professional counsellors and advice.


Holidays, fun and community

You will receive a generous holiday allowance with a full Christmas to New Year break, and we have regular theatre trips, meals out and on-line quizzes. During the pandemic we raised money for the local hospital and made protective clothing for frontline workers.
