Associate Assessor - Standard: Media Production Co-ordinator (Level 4)

Salary/Fee: Fee per assessment, based on daily rate
Location: Multiple locations across the UK. Occasional travel to AIM HQ in Derby may be required.
AIM supports the growth in the end-point assessment (EPA) of apprenticeship standards, delivery of high-quality EPA, and working in partnership with major employers across sectors. We are currently focusing our work on the creative and cultural industries. We are seeking to recruit talented and motivated assessors across a range of standards in the creative sector, including Digital Community Manager.
Media Production Co-ordinator
Media Production Co-ordinators work in the creative media industries, as part of a production team delivering a film, TV or animated series, commercials or in specialist post production departments.
The broad purpose of the occupation is to co-ordinate productions using specialist production management skills, knowledge and experience. A production co-ordinator can work across all genres in film, television, radio/audio or commercials; they may work in the production office, on set, in a studio or on location, in the UK or internationally. In their daily work, an employee in this occupation interacts with and supports the Production Manager or VFX Producer and the wider production or post-production teams and with clients and crew. On larger productions they may work in a team with production assistants working to them.
Apprentices will undertake the core element of the apprenticeship, and then they will choose to specialise in one of the two production options.
Option 1: Film, TV, Commercial, Short Form Radio and Audio Production – The Production Co-ordinator working as a member of the Production team will provide operational support to the Production Manager.
Option 2: Post, VFX/CG and Animation - The Production Coordinator or Junior Bookings Producer working in post-production, VFX/CG or Animation areas is responsible for assisting their team with the day-to-day running of a single project or multiple projects.
Assessors for this standard should be knowledgeable within the creative media sector and have recent, relevant experience at the same level, or a more senior level than the apprentices they are assessing, working within the sector/managing online communities/brand management/digital marketing

AIM Associate Assessor
End-point assessors carry out independent assessment of apprentices once they have passed through the gateway. End-point assessors must ensure their occupational competence and knowledge are up to date to ensure they have the right skills and knowledge to remain credible to employers and assess an apprentice's competence.
As an associate end-point assessor working with AIM you will:
Assess and document apprentice competence against apprenticeship standards at designated venues using the stated assessment methods
Carry out and document end-point assessment activities in line with AIM and regulatory arrangements
Provide concise written feedback to apprentices to explain assessment decisions
Complete and submit reports within the necessary timescales
Provide advice and support on end-point assessment
Participate in training and standardisation activities to ensure a consistent approach to end-point assessment
Maintain a thorough knowledge of the organisation and AIM end-point assessment policies and procedure
Associate assessors for Media Production Co-ordinator must:
Have recent, relevant experience within the creative media sector gained within the last 2 years at a level above as that of the apprentice, or significant experience within the sector
Knowledge of the following occupational areas
Working as a production executive, line producer or production manager in either TV, film, radio and audio, commercial, post -production, animation or VFX environments
Demonstrate willingness to undertake training about assessment practice, operating the assessment tools and grading
Some experience of working in the education sector would be desirable, as would some knowledge of assessment, but not essential as we are looking for industry practitioners
Be independent of the apprentice, their employer and training provider(s) i.e. there must be no conflict of interest
An assessor qualification would be desirable, but not essential e.g. award in undertaking end point assessment. Successful assessors will be required to undertake assessment training.

- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Willingness to travel
- Self-motivation and a flexible approach with apprentices and employers
